A true miracle: Salina, KS dodges massive wedge tornado

Last night the city dodged a bullet when a massive supercell that spawned a likely F4 twister dissipated shortly before reaching the town of roughly 47,000.

Any avid storm chasers or fellow weather enthusiasts tracking the radar during yesterday's tornado outbreak could see the potential for Salina to be the next Joplin. Weather is a funny thing.

A second outbreak is expected tonight in my area of the plains. Everyone stay safe during this unusually intense storm season!
